There have been many great albums in 2025, with still many more to come. Here is a look at the most anticipated albums coming soon.
On Aug. 12 the internet blew up with a clip released by the “New Heights” podcast hosted by Jason Kelce and newly engaged fiancé of Taylor Swift; Travis Kelce released a clip with Swift where she announced her next album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” It will be the 12th studio album added to her discography. The full episode of “New Heights,” released the following day, included the track list of the album. “The Tortured Poets Department” sold 2.6 million copies first week, and the question is can “The Life of a Showgirl” outsell it? Swift is even bigger than what she was in early 2024, so it is possible. It will be released Oct. 3 on Spotify.
Drake comes back with another solo album, the first since the Kendrick Lamar beef and collab album with Party Next Door. Drake posted a livestream on July 4 titled “Iceman Episode 1” where he debuted the theme of the album, as well as performed “What Did I Miss” to end the stream. After the release, “What Did I Miss” peaked 2nd on The USA Billboard Hot 100. “Iceman” Is expected to release late 2025, and it will be his 9th studio album, and is expected to get big numbers.
Tame Impala’s upcoming 5th studio album “Deadbeat” is a 12-song project in the works to be released Oct. 17 on Spotify. Led by singles “End of Summer” and “Loser,” listeners can expect “Deadbeat” to incorporate dance music elements to reflect the concept of “future primitive rave.” This will be Tame Impala’s first album since 2020.
