Violent Vira is a female rock vocalist who performed 12 songs at the Waiting Room Lounge on Aug. 14 in Omaha. She performed for her Chasing Ghost North America Tour Part I, which went from July through September, including 28 stops.
She debuted with the single “I Don’t Care,” which was released in 2021. She is known for her alternative rock, metal scene, and indie music style. Her music is very fast paced and hard hitting, hitting the hearts of her supporters.
Senior Eddy Alvarado Cua and junior Keaton Carver were lucky to not only attend the concert but meet her at dinner before the concert. Both fans enjoyed the experience.
Carver found out about the concert through social media and later spread the information about the concert, which lead to Alvarado also finding out about the concert. “I found out about the concert because I was scrolling through Violent Vira’s Spotify and was like, Oh, what? She’s coming to Omaha, that’s so sick!” Carver said.
Before the concert they were planning to grab food so that during the concert they could fully enjoy it, not knowing who they would meet there. “Funny enough, we went out to eat ramen as a group and coincidentally she was also there, so we got to talk to her before the concert,” Alvarado said.
“We were lucky enough to meet her and ask for a picture, which was one of my highlights of the night,” Carver said.
Carver has been listening to her music since eighth grade. “I would recommend the music if it were the type of music that they enjoy,” Carver said.
Alvarado has listened to her music for a year and a half and also recommended it to people who like, “powerful, raw, and emotionally intense music,” Alvarado said
Alvarado’s favorite song was “I Don’t Care,” while Carver’s favorite song was “God Complex.”
Both stated that their favorite part was during the mosh pit, as they were both living in that moment and forgetting other things.
Having such a great time that a little accident like that wouldn’t bring him down but added a funny memory to share.
“The mosh pit was really fun; I lost my shoe while I was in it,” Carver said.
Alvarado also had a funny accident in the mosh pit. “Most memorable part was the mosh pit, fun even though I fell,” Alvarado said.
“If she comes back to Omaha I would highly recommend going to one of her concerts as you won’t be disappointed,” Alvarado said.
