The Central Roadshow is a important tradition that held its 112th show this year. It showcases students’ talents and allows them to perform for parents, peers and alumni. It is a night where thecreative students at Central get to shine. “The different types of talent, and variety acts that we’re able to showcase on our stage, which really shows the diversity that we have, you know, in our Central community, to be able to showcase so many talented students on our stage,” said Scott Mead, the drama director.
One multitalented student who performed is senior Izzy Worden. Partaking in multiple acts, Worden is no stranger to the work and practice that goes into the roadshow. Worden performed her original song, “Looks Could Kill (Dear Isabella),” at the Roadshow. Her goal was to promote it and leave with no regrets her senior year. “It’s a lot of work especially because this is such a busy time of year and coming back from break and there’s snow days and cold days, but I think when it all comes together it’s so rewarding.”
Freshmen Jay Ewing participated in their first Roadshow, and read their original poetry alongside freshmen Ethan Kershner. “I like to take opportunities to show my work and my art and I feel like again, this is one of my best works I think, and me and my friend have been talking about it for a really long time and this was the best opportunity to take it,” said Ewing.
Since the Roadshow has so much variety, it demands a lot of time and attention to detail. The Roadshow highlights the talents of not just performers but the numerous other people behind the scenes that make the 21-act show possible. From lighting crew to sound crew and management crew they all work together to put something amazing together.
